At last! Legendary Poughkeepsie Deli opens new location
It’s been a long time coming, but the day we’ve all been waiting for has finally arrived. Rossi’s Deli has opened in its new location in downtown Eastdale Village on Route 44 in Poughkeepsie. We’ve known this for a long time, but this damn global pandemic has slowed everything down. Rossi is well worth the wait.
Mind you, this is just a soft open for now, but it’s still great news. The soft opening will feature Rossi’s new bakery and antipasto stations. And here’s something very cool about Rossi’s new Eastdale location. It’s done Rossi & Sons Alimentari. Alimentari is loosely translated on the market into English, and it’s Rossi’s version of an old-school Italian food hall.
The initial phase of the opening will feature the Salumi and Mozzarella Antipasto Bar featuring made-to-order sliced meat, custom antipasto plates and fresh mozzarella. The Artisan Bakery station offers wild yeast fermented artisan breads, pastries and more, all using local heritage grains. There’s even an espresso bar. And guess what? We have pictures. Big thanks to my photographer friend Chuck who ran to the soft opening to take pictures. And the food, no doubt.

It’s just the soft opening. In the days and weeks ahead, we can expect sandwiches and paninis, salads, a made-to-order pasta station and much more.
