Halloween Fun Comes to 2 Hudson Valley Zoos
Halloween is always a fun time of the year for kids, but also for many adults. But the trick or the treatment has been a bit uncertain with the pandemic, and some people are not quite ready to send their children just yet. Whether you’re comfortable with the trick or the treat or not, there are some really fun and safe weekends to come to our local zoos that kids and parents can enjoy.
Forsyth Nature Center on Lucas Avenue Ext. in Kingston will be holding Boo at Zoo Movie Night on Friday, October 29 starting at 6:30 p.m. They will present Hotel Transylvania, a family animated film for all ages. Come in disguise and offer Halloween treats to the children. It’s a great way to start Halloween weekend with fun for the whole family. For more information, visit the Forsyth Nature Center website.
On the east side of the Hudson River, you can head to the Trevor Zoo at 282 Millbrook School Road in Millbrook for a whole weekend of family activities. It’s the 3rd annual Howl & Holler weekend, October 30th and 31st. You will receive free treat bags with orangutan-friendly Halloween candy. Also free activity booklets for children, special family activities and food trucks. Halloween costumes are encouraged and reservations are required. For more, check out the Trevor Zoo website.
Halloween is a great holiday, and there are plenty of ways to celebrate it, even if you’re not ready to send tricks or treats to your kids. The zoo is always fun and we are fortunate to have a few here in the Hudson Valley. Whatever you do, have a safe and fun Halloween!
