Yay! My favorite store is about to open in Newburgh

I’m a little oblivious. So much so that my boyfriend gave me the nickname Oblivia. I try to be more observant, but I guess it’s just not in my genes. Anyway, I might be the last to know this news, but I was in Newburgh earlier this week and found out that one of my all-time favorite stores is about to open. open there. Yay!

As I was in the town of Newburgh, I decided to stop at Marshall’s. I haven’t been there in ages, maybe it was even before the pandemic. We pulled into the parking lot and saw a HomeGoods sign. Household items? In the town of Newburgh? How cool is that? I was ready to jump out of the car and run for shopping when I noticed there were still people working inside. So it’s not open yet, but it looks like it will be very soon.

I’m a big fan of buying local, but sometimes the appeal and prices of a department store can draw you in and keep you coming back. That’s kind of what happens to me when I’m at HomeGoods. I’m such a fan of home decor, and they have pretty much everything for your home in one place. I can’t help myself. I realize there are other HomeGoods stores in the Hudson Valley. There’s even one a few miles from my home in Poughkeepsie. But if you can’t find what you’re looking for, chances are you’ll find it at another HomeGoods store.

I don’t know whether to worry about my HomeGoods shopping addiction or jump for joy at having even more access to things I absolutely don’t need for my home. I think I’ll be jumping for joy as I look forward to Newburgh HomeGoods opening. Which, by the way, my colleague wrote about returning to spring. I guess that’s why they call me Oblivia.
